NEWS RELEASE FROM MONTROSE COUNTY

Montrose, COLO.–The B-52 Stratofortress and its 185 feet of wing span glory will descend on the Montrose Regional Airport Thursday to officially kick off the Fourth Annual Tribute to Aviation weekend celebrated on September 15th and 16th. Led by the eight engine B-52 bomber, aircraft will be soaring through the skies on Thursday (13th) and Friday (14th). Over 50 specialty aircraft, helicopters, and wonders of flight are expected at this year’s event. Proudly presented by the Montrose Regional Airport, Atlantic Aviation, Horsefly Brewing Company, and Montrose County, the Tribute to Aviation is a static display of some of the nation’s top military and civilian aircraft. A static display of aircraft is a unique event where spectators have the opportunity to tour aircraft, meet and talk with the pilots and crew, and get up close and personal with nearly every aircraft in the military’s fleet. This year’s theme is Women in Aviation celebrating the achievements of female aviators and inspiring aviation dreams of the women of tomorrow.

“The fourth year of the Tribute to Aviation will set the stage as the largest static display in Colorado,” said Director of Aviation Lloyd Arnold. “The caliber of aircraft that will be on our ramp is worthy of any major air show. This event is over a year in the making and on behalf of the airport and county, we are proud to be able to provide this free family event for the fourth year in a row. The B-52 is the best of the best–seeing this aircraft is a once in a lifetime opportunity that you won’t want to miss.”

Adding to the exciting atmosphere is the return of Precision Exotics with a newly painted Lamborghini and Ferrari.
